by Nissan. It is important to mention here that Nissan has two models
for Maxima, as 3.5 SE and 3.5 SL. 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine is
standard for both the trims. Both models have 265 hp @ 5,800 rpm. Torque
is generated as 255 lb-ft of torque @ 4400 rpm. Continuously Variable
Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS), Nissan direct ignition system with
platinum-tipped spark plugs, electronic drive-by-wire and variable intake
system (CVTCS) are standard for both the trims. 5-speed automatic transmission
with manual shift mode is standard for 3.5 SE whereas 6-speed close-ratio
manual transmission is optional for this trim. 4-speed automatic transmission
is standard for 3.5 SL.
Front engine and front-wheel drive are standard for all. Power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes (front vented), 4-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and brake assist features are standard. Suspension and steering features are stadard with front independent strut suspension, rear multi-link suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, luxury-tuned suspension (3.5 SL), sport-tuned suspension (3.5 SE), engine-speed-sensitive power-assisted and rack-and-pinion steering system are standard. Other standard Interior convenience features include information center with 6.3" LCD monitor and multiple displays, steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, power windows with front windows auto up/down and anti-pinch feature alongwith power door locks and remote keyless entry. Also standard are remote keyless front window up/down and trunk release feature with key-operated front windows up/down and HomeLink® Universal Transceiver. Nissan has further provided Maxima with cruise control, variable intermittent speed-sensitive windshield wipers and auto-dimming rearview mirror.
