 The 2006 2007 land rover Discovery is a 4-door, up to 7-passenger luxury sport-utility, available in 4 trims, ranging from the S to the HSE. Its closest competitors include the Acura MDX, the Lexus GX 470, and the Volvo XC90. New colours for 2006 2007 land rover Discovery include Maya Gold and Helsinki Blue. Also available will be Adriatic Blue and Giverny Green, previously only available on the Range Rover. Completing the changes for 2006 2007 are revised badging in Range Rover style with raised lettering in a Brunel finish.
Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 4.6-liter, V8, 217-horsepower engine that achieves 12-mpg in the city and 16-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The 2006 2007 Discovery is a carryover from 2003. EPA mileage rating is 12 MPG city, 16 highway.
In the event of temporary brain drain, Land Rover has prepared the 2006 2007 land rover Discovery for those that might push it too far. The suspension has been upgraded since its inception to include modified Range Rover axles with a wider front and rear track for a more stable ride, plus a new Watts linkage rear suspension. A fairly robust 300 lb-ft of torque available at a low 2,600 rpm, 50 lb-ft greater than the old model, gives it a decent level of oomph off the line. Additionally all 2006 2007 land rover Discovery models will be fitted with Automatic Drive-Away Locking. This fully automatic system locks all of the doors as the vehicle moves away. The system will detect when the driver or passengers wish to exit the vehicle and will unlock all of the doors and doors are also unlocked when the engine is switched off. Also available is a range of Discovery commercial vehicles, which can be adapted for a variety of uses, with prices commencing at £22,995. It is the most traditional Land Rover sold in North America.
