For best suspension at front 2006 2007 Hyundai Elantra has independent MacPherson strut with coil spring and anti-roll stabilizer whereas for rear it has dual-link type with coil springs and anti-roll stabilizer. Shock absorber are of telescopic hydraulic double acting type. Elantra has 4-spoke airbag steering wheel (3-spoke with non-airbag) energy absorbing collapsible steering column with optional tilt steering. Front air bags are depowered for safer and softer inflation. Front brakes have 14-inch ventilated disc, floating - caliper brakes with pads wear warning device. Rear brakes without ABS has 8-inch self adjusting, leading trailing shoe drum brakes with parking brake mechanism while with ABS it has 14-inch solid disc, floating-caliper brake with parking brake mechanism. |
