Aluminum-alloy V-6 type engine is standard for both the variants. Displacement in (liter) is 3.5 for both LX and EX. Both have 240 hp at 5400 rpm as SAE net. The torque so generated is 242 lb.-ft. at 4500 rpm. Compression ratio has been maintained at 10.0: 1 for the two. Some of the standard features found in Pilot are multi-point fuel injection, SOHC 24 valve VTEC valve train, and direct ignition system w/Immobilizer. A 5 speed automatic transmission is available for LX and EX.
Other standard features include unit-body construction, MacPherson strut front / multi-link w/trailing arms rear suspension, variable-assist power rack-and-pinion steering along with 4-wheel disc brakes w/anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution system (EBD). Wheels are 16" styled steel for LX and 16" alloy for EX with all season tires P235 / 70 R16 104 S for both the machines. Both these Honda Pilot have cargo volume of 90.3/48.7/16.3. cu.ft. behind 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Passenger volume is 176.9 cu.ft.
