Genuine off-road capability and on-road agility enables Liberty to deliver impressive all-around performance. Its performance review reveals a rugged, aggressive engine that speaks volumes. Its sales have been pretty strong so far: nearly 88,500 through the end of 2001, nearly 74,000 more in the first half of '02. Its not 'truck-like' on pavement. It doesn't sacrifice ride comfort and
drive ability for off-road prowess. It offers a great balance for someone who enjoys the outdoors. Day in and day out, it takes the place of a car or wagon. Its seats four comfortably and can carry up to five people and their gear. Fold the rear seats and it can move two people and some serious cargo. Turn off the pavement and it can go just about anywhere.
2006 2007 Jeep Liberty returns for this model year with no major changes. It is a 4-door, 5-passenger sport-utility, available in 8 trims, ranging from the Sport 2WD to the Renegade 4WD. All models are available in either 2WD or 4WD. The Sport model features a 2.4L four-cylinder engine and an optional 3.7L V-6, which is standard on Renegade and Limited models.
